God, thank you. All glory and honor belong to you!

Today is an emotional day for me. It's a day I will never forget, which changed my life two years ago. As you read about my journey and the road to recovery, know God is in control, and I trust the process.

My journey is a mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual process. I can't even explain everything I have been through, but I can tell you this process has strengthened my relationship and walk with GOD. I have learned so much about myself and others around me. The most challenging thing for me at first was the people who I thought had me didn't have me, but it was part of the plan. I have learned that everyone can't go when God takes you to another level. God will remove people from your life for a season and a reason. It's not because you have done anything wrong. It's so God can get the glory and the praise once you come out of the process or journey, in my case.

On this day two years ago (March 1, 2020), I had an accident and tore my ACL, MCL, LCL, Biceps, and Ligaments, which caused nerve damage and my foot drop. I wasn't able to walk on my own for two years. I started with crutches and a wheelchair. Then I went from Crutches and a walker. After that, it was crutches and a cane. I had to wear two braces for 21 months. My injury was supposed to put me in a wheelchair for the rest of my life but God. God, I thank you! Jermimiah 29:11.

God, thank you! God, thank you for this journey I have been on for the past two years. I remember going to my doctor on March 1, 2020, the day of my accident. He told me I was the worst case he had ever seen in his career. He asked me if I believed in God. I told him Yes. He told me God would have to be the one to heal you.

On September 23, 2022, the doctor performed reconstructive surgery on my knee. The only thing the doctor had to repair was my ACL and meniscus. LOOK AT GOD! GLORY! After my surgery, I was back on crutches.

On Monday, September 26, I first went to physical therapy, which was brutal. I want to thank Peggy for taking me to my first appointment. She drove from Maryland to Hampton Roads to take me to an hour appointment. Peggy, I can't thank you enough!

I had Physical therapy twice a week, so I would Uber to and from my doctor's appointments which was crazy, but God. The blessing is all of my Uber drivers were great and understanding.

Fast forward

I am still in physical therapy twice a week. I still have a way to go but GOD! In physical therapy, I have to set goals. My first goal is to walk independently by February 28, 2023. Praise GOD! I MET THAT GOAL. I have been walking independently for about a week in a half. I still have to wear my foot drop brace. My second goal is to be able to straighten my leg by my birthday in July. My last goal is to run again by December 2023.

Thank God I no longer have to wear my full leg brace. I still have my foot drop brace, though.

God, thanks for being there during the darkest moments of my life.

Best friend, thank you for being by my side from day one. Thank you for encouraging me when I felt like giving up. Thanks for being my cheerleader.

To my brother Kevin for your support and help when I needed you. To my sister, Nichole, thank you for coming from Jersey to see me when I needed you. To my children who texted me or called to ensure I was okay. To my dad, who has been my biggest cheerleader and still encourages me when I have my moments. To my mom, who called to check on me. To my grandbaby Kalani, grandmom misses and loves you so much. I promise we will spend more time together soon.

Amy thank you also for taking me to my doctor's appointments. Kalisha thank you for taking me to my appointments before I taught myself to drive. Kalisha also came and sat with me through the week, which meant so much. She would make sure I ate. I appreciate everything you have done for me.  Step, thank you for checking on me and bringing me food and laughs. Kimberly thank you for being that friend and for the ride home. Thanks to my church family for all the prayers. I thank my former dean and current president for bringing me food and having my back. Valentina thank you for the prayers. Sharon thank you for the day you called; it was on time. Joanne thank you, sis! Shirl, thank you for the call and texts. Linda, thank you for the encouraging words. Cheryll thank you and the pastor for checking on me from time to time. Thank God for the strangers He sent to pray for me in Walmart and WAWA parking lot. I appreciate your support. I want to thank everyone who is praying for me.

If I forgot anyone, please forgive me.

March 1, 2021, the day of my accident.

On July 17, 2021. I was determined to walk. God thank you for being with me. I don't own the rights to the music

I walked with a walker in October 2021

LOOK AT GOD! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I WALKED WITHOUT A WHEELCHAIR, CRUTCHES, A CANE, OR A WALKER ON FEBRUARY 24, 2023. I still have a ways to go but GOD. IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE I WALKED INDEPENDENTLY! GOD THANK YOU! GLORY! GLORY! GLORY!  Yes, I still have to wear a foot drop brace but I CAN WALK.

God is amazing
